Basketball Game Preview: Tahquitz Titans vs. Elsinore Tigers

Tahquitz and Elsinore are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2017, but not for long. The Tahquitz Titans will head out to square off against the Elsinore Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-48, which was the final score in Tahquitz's tilt against Temescal Canyon on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for Tahquitz in their matchups with Temescal Canyon: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Elsinore had to suffer through a 74-15 loss at the hands of San Jacinto. While losing is never fun, Elsinore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 817th, while San Jacinto is ranked 167th).

Tahquitz's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Elsinore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Tahquitz was able to grind out a solid victory over Elsinore when the teams last played on January 8th, winning 56-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tahquitz since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
