Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Western Christian's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Western Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Woodcrest Christian Royals 40-35. If the Fighting Lancers were looking for revenge after losing 37-34 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Fighting Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jenna Mills, who posted eight points and three steals. That's the most steals Mills has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madi Alvarez, who had four points and five steals.

Western Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Woodcrest Christian, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Western Christian has already played their next contest (against NOVA Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Woodcrest Christian has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Linfield Christian.
