Basketball Recap: Lick-Wilmerding Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

If Marin Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lick-Wilmerding, they should've done a better job of containing Amaya Tavu. The Lick-Wilmerding Tigers took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 58-15 win over the Marin Academy Wildcats thanks in part to Tavu, who went 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Lauryn Lacap, who posted four points along with six rebounds and six steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Lick-Wilmerding has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Marin Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-7 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lick-Wilmerding Tigers take on the San Domenico Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
