Soccer Recap: Santa Ynez's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carpinteria, Santa Ynez was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mission College Prep Royals a 2-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ella Gotschall and Hannah Ricci scored both of Santa Ynez's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Santa Ynez's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Mission College Prep, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Santa Ynez will take on Morro Bay in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. As for Mission College Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
