Softball Recap: Starmont Comes Up Short

Starmont fell victim to Edgewood-Colesburg and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 on Monday.

Starmont has also been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Edgewood-Colesburg, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 29-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Starmont is set to square off against their familiar foe Central City at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Edgewood-Colesburg will take on rival Maquoketa Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 3.4, the Wildcats 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
