Basketball Game Preview: Bucktail Bucks vs. Millville Quakers

Bucktail is 2-8 against Millville since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bucktail Bucks will face off against the Millville Quakers at 6:00 p.m.

On Monday, Bucktail came up short against Neumann Regional Academy and fell 47-39. The Bucks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Millville hadn't done well against South Williamsport recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Millville beat South Williamsport by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 40-32. The victory was nothing new for the Quakers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Bucktail better keep an eye on Larissa Evans. She was instrumental in Millville's win, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Evans has scored at least a third of Millville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Hippenstiel, who posted five points and 11 rebounds.

Millville pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.0 points per game. As for Bucktail, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Bucktail won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, slipping by Millville 48-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bucktail since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
