Baseball Game Preview: Hercules Titans vs. Swett Warriors

For the second straight game, Hercules will face off against Swett. The Titans will take on the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hercules' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

On Wednesday, Hercules got the win against Swett by a conclusive 13-1. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won nine in a row.

Noah Ledesma and Jason Kao did most of the damage at the plate: Ledesma scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Kao went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. The dominant performance also gave Ledesma a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was William Hobbs, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Hercules was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Swett's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-1. As for Hercules, the win got them back to even at 8-8-2.

Swett's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hercules has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Swett, though, as they've only averaged .314.
