Softball Recap: Northglenn Takes a Loss

Thornton hit Northglenn with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Norsemen came up short against the Trojans, falling 10-3. The Norsemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Jocelyn Evans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Northglenn has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Thornton, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1-1.

Coming up, Northglenn will head out to challenge Westminster at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Norsemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Thornton, they will be playing at home against Jefferson Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
