Basketball Recap: Commodore Perry Drops Highest Score of Season Against Youngsville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Commodore Perry). They breezed by the Youngsville Eagles to the tune of 71-17 on Thursday. The Panthers pushed the score to 56-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had no chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Commodore Perry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evalyn Furey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 steals. With that strong performance, Furey is now averaging an impressive 2.7 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Eastin Post, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards.

Commodore Perry's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Youngsville, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Jamestown the next time they take the court. Commodore Perry will host Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Youngsville will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
