Basketball Recap: Galeton Comes Up Short

Galeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 40th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 35-25 to the Smethport Hubbers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-22 back in December of 2024.

Lynlee Basile was Galeton's leading scorer, having posted 15 points.

Leading Smethport to victory were Madelyn McKean and Payton Neff. McKean almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards, while Neff posted 14 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Neff a new career-high in assists (three). Mara Ours was another key player, putting up three points and 12 rebounds.

Galeton's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Smethport, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-14.

Galeton has already played their next game, a 67-15 defeat against Coudersport on the 31st. As for Smethport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-16 loss against Austin on the 31st.
