Soccer Recap: Maranatha Takes a Loss

After soaring to six goals the game before, Maranatha was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Muir Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The Minutemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Maranatha was without their leading scorer, Ella Klop, in Tuesday's contest. With Klop sidelined, Cheyenne Throop got her first action of the season.

Maranatha's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Muir, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1-1.

Maranatha will be taking part in a tournament against St. Genevieve at 10:30 a.m. on December 26th. As for Muir, they will be home for the holidays to greet Hoover at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Muir's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Hoover's offense will have their work cut out for them.
