Basketball Recap: Animo Robinson Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Animo Robinson had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 61-35 margin over the Vaughn White Tigers. The Monarchs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Vaughn's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emma Cisneros, who posted 24 points and six steals, and Estefany Contreras, who dropped a triple-double with 15 boards, ten assists, and 12 steals. Contreras is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 19 games she's played.

Animo Robinson's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35 points. As for Vaughn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Coming up, Animo Robinson will face off against Northridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northridge Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Animo Robinson surely won't give up without a fight. Vaughn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
