Football Recap: Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls vs. Central Cabarrus Vikings
After flying high against Parkwood last Friday, Hickory Ridge came back down to earth. The Ragin' Bulls lost 27-6 to the Central Cabarrus Vikings on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Ragin' Bulls' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Braden Barberio threw for 126 yards on ten of 21 attempts. Colby Corneius was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards. On the ground, Johnny Hailey rushed for 40 yards.
Central Cabarrus had a senior duo take command as Damonte James rushed for 131 yards and three scores on only nine carries and Tiy'Rhen Ward rushed for 57 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for James.
Hickory Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Central Cabarrus, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Hickory Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-10 defeat against West Cabarrus on the 26th. As for Central Cabarrus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-13 loss against Olympic on the 26th.
