Basketball Recap: Minden Piles Up the Points Against Lexington

A well-balanced attack led Minden over Lexington in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Whippets blew the Minutemen out of the water with a 56-28 final score. The Whippets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Minutemen, too.

Minden's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myla Emery, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards Emery has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Carr, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Minden now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minden will welcome Broken Bow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Whippets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lexington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against York at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
