Basketball Game Preview: Tyrone Golden Eagles vs. Clearfield Bison

The Tyrone Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Clearfield Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Tyrone blew past Bellefonte, posting a 64-21 win. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Raiders are ranked 639th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clearfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-51 victory over Clarion-Limestone on Saturday.

Clearfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. As for Tyrone, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-9.

Tyrone came up short against Clearfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 62-56. Can Tyrone avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
