Softball Recap: ThunderRidge Takes a Loss

If ThunderRidge was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Highlands Ranch on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grizzlies came up short against the Chaparral Wolverines on Thursday, falling 11-2. The Grizzlies were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Wolverines' pitchers proved too tough.

ThunderRidge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meredith O'Neil, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. O'Neil is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

ThunderRidge's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Chaparral, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ThunderRidge will venture away from home to square off against Cherokee Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chaparral, they will head out to take on Ralston Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
