Softball Recap: Lewis Central's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Lewis Central nor Clarinda made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Titans fell 7-2 to the Cardinals. The Titans were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the six matches prior), but the Cardinals' pitcher proved too tough.

Cami Damgaard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Aubree Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Lewis Central's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-8. As for Clarinda, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lewis Central beat Clarinda by a score of 6-3 later that day.
