Baseball Game Preview: Arabia Mountain Rams vs. Lakeside Vikings

Arabia Mountain is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Monday. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Lakeside Vikings at 4:00 p.m.

Arabia Mountain came into their game last Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-1 to Stephenson. The loss put an end to the Rams' undefeated start to the season.

Arabia Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Veal, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Lakeside came out on top against Redan on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Vikings took their game against the Raiders 6-2.

Luke Barron looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025.

On the hitting side, Warren Gage was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. Rory Lichtman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Lakeside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Arabia Mountain fell to 2-1.

Arabia Mountain suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Lakeside in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
