Sibley East ended up on the wrong side of a painful 6-39 walloping at New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva's hands. The state rankings had actually given Sibley East a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

The defeat dropped Sibley East's record to 0-2. The win got New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Sibley East take on Maple River at 7:00 PM. As for New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, they will face off against Norwood-Young America.
