After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wesleyan, Mount Vernon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Galloway Scots a 15-0 shutout. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.

Mount Vernon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Galloway, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mount Vernon will face off against Social Circle at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Galloway, they will head out to square off against Lakeside at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Scots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
