Basketball Game Preview: Mount Calvary Christian Chargers vs. Northern Bedford County Panthers

The Mount Calvary Christian Chargers will head out to square off against the Northern Bedford County Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mount Calvary Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They managed a 33-28 victory over Veritas Academy. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Monarch: they've now won seven in a row.

Mount Calvary Christian can attribute much of their success to Kylie Masters, who shot 47% from the field on her way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals, and Kathleen Smucker, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. Masters has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Meanwhile, Northern Bedford County had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past Fannett Metal 41-20.

The victory got Northern Bedford County back to even at 12-12. As for Mount Calvary Christian, their win bumped their record up to 23-5.
