Basketball Recap: Mammoth Comes Up Short

Mammoth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 67-19 loss at the hands of the Desert Scorpions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-6 back in January.

Despite the loss, Mammoth saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Julianne Bassler posted five points along with six steals and five boards. Bassler has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Monse Flores, who had six points.

Mammoth's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Desert, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-10 record.

As of now, neither Mammoth nor the Scorpions have any future games scheduled.
