Softball Game Preview: Lexington Minutemen vs. Holden Eagles

Lexington is 0-10 against Holden since September of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Minutemen will host the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lexington is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Braymer with a sharp 20-5 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Minutemen considering their two-run performance the game before.

Kinsley Worthington was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Laniya Davis, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lexington lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Meanwhile, Holden never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They came out on top against Summit Christian Academy by a score of 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Holden.

Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Holden, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
