Softball Recap: Wheat Ridge Comes Up Short

Wheat Ridge extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 20-1 to the Frederick Golden Eagles. If the Farmers were looking for revenge after losing 11-6 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

For Frederick's part, Elayna Fisher made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fisher was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, Ella Stromberg was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brealea Stendel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Wheat Ridge has already played their next contest (against Eagle Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Frederick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 9-3 victory against Dakota Ridge on the 23rd.
