Recap: Moon Area Tigers vs. South Park Eagles
The Moon Area Tigers posted their biggest victory since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They breezed by South Park on the road to the tune of 66-39. With Moon Area ahead 35-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Leading Moon Area to victory were Maria Depner and Jaedin Griggs. Depner dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Griggs scored 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Brown, who scored 13 points.
Moon Area's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-4. As for South Park, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moon Area will take on Penn Hills at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Penn Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Moon Area is ranked 103rd). As for South Park, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Serra Catholic at 7:15 p.m.
