Football Recap: Northeastern Find Success

Northeastern proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 25) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They pulled ahead with a 14-13 photo finish over the Martin County Gators. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Eagles were the better team in the second half.

The win was the third in a row for Northeastern, bringing their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.3 points on average over those games. As for Martin County, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Northeastern wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 21-14 defeat against Pasquotank County on the 31st. As for Martin County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 29-16 win against Hertford County on the 30th.
