Basketball Recap: Lancaster County Christian Skates Past Coventry Christian with Ease

Lancaster County Christian won the last time they faced Coventry Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Lancaster County Christian Lions claimed a resounding 61-14 win over Coventry Christian. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Alicia Fisher, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie MacCartney, who went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Coventry Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kayla Tinkey posted ten points. That was a full 71.4% of Coventry Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

The victory (which was Lancaster County Christian's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Coventry Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14-1.

Lancaster County Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-43 win against Lancaster Country Day on the 25th. Coventry Christian has also already played their next game, a 65-14 defeat against Linville Hill on the 28th.
