Basketball Recap: James Bomba's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chase County over Mccook

Chase County lost against McCook back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Longhorns took a 66-52 bruising from the Bison. The Longhorns were down 55-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Chase County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Bomba, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Noah Rau, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

Brody Graham went supernova For McCook., shooting 75% from the field to rack up 13 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Gullion, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Chase County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Chase County is taking a road trip to face off against Sidney on Friday. As for McCook, they will be taking part in a tournament against Norton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
