Preview: East Bakersfield Blades vs. North Stars
East Bakersfield and North are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The East Bakersfield Blades will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the North Stars at 6:30 p.m. East Bakersfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 895th, while North is ranked 431st).
East Bakersfield can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South 61-30 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win East Bakersfield has posted since December 9, 2023.
North suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 74-46 defeat at the hands of Tehachapi. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North in their matchups with Tehachapi: they've now lost five in a row.
East Bakersfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for North, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.
East Bakersfield came up short against North when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 48-44. Can East Bakersfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
