Preview: Laytonville Warriors vs. Point Arena Pirates
Laytonville is 8-2 against Point Arena since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Laytonville Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Point Arena Pirates at 5:30 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Laytonville came up short against Anderson Valley and fell 42-32.
Meanwhile, Point Arena waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 62-58 W over Round Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Laytonville bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.2 points per game. As for Point Arena, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Everything came up roses for Laytonville against Point Arena in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 52-24 win. Does Laytonville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Point Arena turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
