Softball Recap: Hampton Takes a Loss

Hampton extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-9. They came up short against the Woodland Wolfpack, falling 13-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolfpack this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in August.

As for Woodland, they now have a winning record of 5-4. Considering they have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Woodland's part, the team relied heavily on Aliyah Allen, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two stolen bases gave Allen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyndra Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Hampton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-0 defeat against Sandy Creek on the 8th. As for Woodland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-2 loss against Locust Grove on the 8th.
