Football Recap: Desert Christian Piles Up the Points Against Desert

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Desert Christian). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Desert Scorpions 55-14. With the Knights ahead 47-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Ray Latimore produced another solid effort rushing for 94 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Abraham Lamoreaux got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Desert Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB nine times. It was truly a group effort as Lamoreaux, Franky Arcidiacono, and Kenneth Castillo picked up two apiece. Lamoreaux got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Desert Christian pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.7 points on average over those games. As for Desert, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Christian will host Santa Clarita Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Desert, they will challenge California City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Scorpions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
