Recap: Orange Glen Patriots vs. Escondido Cougars
If the Orange Glen Patriots were feeling good off their 51-31 takedown of the Maranatha Christian Eagles back in December of 2023, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Orange Glen took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Escondido on Friday. Orange Glen lost against Escondido in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 32-23 score last time.
It was another big night for Jasmine Reyes, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and six assists for Escondido. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaya McGlory , who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and seven steals.
Orange Glen has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Escondido, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Glen's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Santa Fe Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Escondido will take on Mt. Carmel at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Carmel has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16.
