Basketball Preview: Waterford Wildcats vs. Mariposa County Grizzlies

The Waterford Wildcats will be playing at home against the Mariposa County Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Waterford scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-32 victory over Gustine. Waterford pushed the score to 44-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Reds cut but never quite recovered from.

Waterford relied on the efforts of Sadie Boone, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, and Thalia Reyes, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reyes has scored all season. Samantha Ward was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Mariposa County escaped with a win on Thursday against the Coyotes by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53.

Waterford pushed their record up to 10-13 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Mariposa County, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
