It was a good run, but Franklin unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to the Conneaut Area Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 29-27 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, don't look at Katie Boal. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 boards. That was a full 55.1% of Franklin's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Blum, who had ten points.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Conneaut Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Franklin has already played their next match, a 41-27 win against Greenville on the 18th. As for Conneaut Area, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-50 victory against Slippery Rock on the 18th.
