Basketball Game Preview: Upper Darby Royals vs. Lower Merion Aces

The Upper Darby Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Lower Merion Aces at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Upper Darby is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 49-32 win over Renaissance Academy on Saturday. The team ran away with 38 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Meanwhile, Lower Merion beat Sunlake 43-34 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Aces.

Upper Darby better keep an eye on Alexa Braslow. She was instrumental in Lower Merion's win, going 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. That's the most points Braslow has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Kasmer, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Upper Darby's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-2. As for Lower Merion, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Upper Darby came up short against Lower Merion in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 50-38. Can Upper Darby avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
