Soccer Game Preview: West Branch vs. Pella Christian

The West Branch Bears will head out to face off against the Pella Christian Eagles on Tuesday. West Branch will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, West Branch turned things around against Albia on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over the Blue Demons. The result was nothing new for West Branch, who have now won nine games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pella Christian has been on a difficult stretch since their win on April 24. They and Van Meter finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw last Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for Pella Christian as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The win got West Branch back to even at 10-10-2. Pella Christian's draw gives them a new season record of 12-7-2.

West Branch beat Pella Christian by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
