Basketball Recap: Bishop McDevitt Takes a Loss

Bishop McDevitt lost against Boiling Springs back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders lost 54-34 to the Boiling Springs Bubblers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crusaders have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Despite the loss, Bishop McDevitt still got an impressive performance from Leilah Horshaw, who posted seven points and three steals. Horshaw is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.

Molly Kimmel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Boiling Springs, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Kimmel also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Gillian Mandell was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop McDevitt and nudges their season record down to 8-6. As for Boiling Springs, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1.

Bishop McDevitt has already played their next matchup, a 61-37 victory against Big Spring on the 28th. Boiling Springs has also already played their next contest (against Trinity), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
