Soccer Game Preview: Le Mars vs. Jefferson

The Le Mars Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Jefferson Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Le Mars didn't have quite enough to beat Sioux City North and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for Le Mars in their meetings with Sioux City North: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Jefferson made sure to put some goals up on the board against Missouri Valley on Thursday. They blew past the Big Reds 10-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Jefferson's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five contests. As for Le Mars, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Everything went Le Mars' way against Jefferson when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Le Mars made off with an 8-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
