Basketball Game Preview: Orange Glen Patriots vs. Tri-City Christian Eagles

Orange Glen is 1-9 against Tri-City Christian since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Orange Glen Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Tri-City Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

On Monday, Orange Glen ended up a good deal behind Escondido Adventist Academy and lost 47-31.

Meanwhile, Tri-City Christian came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 59-7 win over the Bulldogs. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 29 points or more this season.

Orange Glen better focus on containing Talia Anthony and Katie Busch as the pair were huge in Tri-City Christian's win. Anthony went 7 for 16 en route to 14 points and five steals, while Busch posted eight points in addition to eight assists and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Busch a new career-high in steals. Ava Johnson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Tri-City Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Tri-City Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.4 points per game. As for Orange Glen, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Orange Glen was taken down by Tri-City Christian 74-6 when the teams last played back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Orange Glen was down 48-1.
