Soccer Game Preview: River Ridge vs. Roswell

River Ridge is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Roswell is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Knights will host the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

River Ridge's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Hillgrove 3-0. The final result isn't all the surprising considering River Ridge's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while Hillgrove are ranked 122nd).

Nolan Mclure and Arman Kovac scored all three of River Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roswell). They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over Wheeler on Thursday. With that victory, Roswell brought their scoring average up to 2.6 goals per game.

Roswell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those seven games. As for River Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.

River Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Roswell when the teams last played back in February, winning 3-1. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
