Softball Recap: Elkhorn South Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Elkhorn South won against Norfolk on Thursday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Storm never let the Mercy Monarchs get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Elkhorn South got a massive performance out of Ella Fowler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Fowler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kacie Hinrichs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Elkhorn South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Elkhorn South has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Mercy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhorn South will host Pius X at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mercy, they will welcome Elkhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
