Soccer Game Preview: St. Mary's vs. Tracy

The St. Mary's Rams will challenge the Tracy Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary's will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

St. Mary's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past West 1-0. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 635th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Tracy was able to grind out a solid victory over Lodi on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1.

St. Mary's pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Tracy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1-1.

St. Mary's skirted past Tracy 1-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Mary's since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
