Baseball Game Preview: Dominion Christian Knights vs. Heritage Preparatory Rams

The Dominion Christian Knights will take on the Heritage Preparatory Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Dominion Christian will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Dominion Christian got the win against Heritage by a conclusive 9-2.

Jaxon Bowen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Canaan Bowen and Jake Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Canaan scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Jackson scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ben Elsey, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Heritage Preparatory was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Mary's Academy on Wednesday, taking the game 13-10.

Lance Hudgins was incredible, scoring three runs while going 4-for-5. Ben Garner was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Dominion Christian pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage Preparatory, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
