Basketball Recap: Basalt Comes Up Short

Basalt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Grand Valley Cardinals on the road by a 49-34 margin. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Basalt's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Grand Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Basalt will be taking part in a tournament against Forge Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grand Valley, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Olathe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
