Soccer Game Preview: Collins Hill vs. Archer

The Collins Hill Eagles will head out to face off against the Archer Tigers at 10:40 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Collins Hill sitting on five straight victories and Archer on nine.

Collins Hill saw some tournament action on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Glynn Academy 2-1.

Will Taylor and Damian Sanchez scored both of Collins Hill's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Archer faced St. Pius X Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Archer who was credited with the win. Archer got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to St. Pius X Catholic's three.

Collins Hill pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five games. As for Archer, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Collins Hill took their victory against Archer in their previous matchup back in April of 2017 by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Collins Hill since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
