Football Game Preview: Whitman Vikings vs. Churchill Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Whitman Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Churchill Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Whitman earned a 14-7 victory over Wootton.

Meanwhile, Churchill won against Northwest two weeks ago with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on Walter Johnson with a sharp 28-6 win. The Bulldogs have beaten the Wildcats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Churchill's win came from a few key players Whitman will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Noah Zhang, who rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and one TD. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up 0.5 sacks and making six total tackles. Hunter Humphries was another key player, throwing for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Churchill was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Churchill's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Whitman, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Whitman was dealt a bruising 37-0 defeat at the hands of Churchill when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Vikings, Vasi Hallas (who threw for 237 yards and four TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
