Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short

Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Marina Mariners and fell 66-2. While losing is never fun, the Spirits can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1379th, while the Mariners are ranked 499th).

Marina got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Martin out in front who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Martin has posted since back in December of 2024. Shekinah Williams was another key player, putting up 18 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Marina, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

As of now, neither Notre Dame nor Marina have any future games scheduled.
