Basketball Game Preview: Gabrielino Eagles vs. Western Christian Fighting Lancers

The Gabrielino Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Western Christian Fighting Lancers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Gabrielino will be strutting in after a victory while Western Christian will be coming in after a loss.

While Eagles fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They really took it to Bell Gardens for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-19 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 26-point advantage.

Gabrielino found their leader in sophomore Chloe Trieu, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Western Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 43-38 to Hesperia Christian.

Gabrielino will need to focus on slowing down Hannah Yamamoto, one of several Western Christian players who made an impact when they last played. She put up ten points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of CeCe Balderrama, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
