Basketball Recap: Purchase Line Falls to Portage in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Purchase Line kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 56-52 to the Portage Mustangs. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Dragons in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Leading Portage to victory were Kendall Bednarski and Britton Myher. Bednarski posted 15 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals, while Myher earned 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Bednarski has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Liana Bagby, who had nine points and seven rebounds.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Purchase Line will face off against Conemaugh Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Portage, they will take on Central Cambria at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
